‘Platinum Award’ apartments recently finished in Hollywood
The famous Cherokee studio where David Bowie, Dave Matthews and Frank Sinatra have all recorded work has been transformed into 12 energy efficient loft style flats, showcasing recycled materials used throughout. With the aim of being the first LEED apartments in Hollywood, the Cherokee apartments use sustainable, renewable energy resources and a high amount of recycled content. The apartments have been built with the goal of achieving the platinum standard for a LEED building, a prestigious award for an environmental building.
This is an innovative and quirky design, and as a result, the operable façade exterior is constantly changing, giving a different perspective each day. The outer layer of the building opens and closes giving the balcony added privacy and protection from noise pollution. This is similar to that of the timber finish of our design here at Horner House, the timber cladding ages gracefully over time, which will give your home a beautiful finish which sits at ease in a natural backdrop.
The Cherokee apartments are built for environmentally dedicated people, using solar energy, reducing landfill waste and electronic car charging stations in the underground car park. A Horner House design is made using sustainable and reliable materials which could be compared to the environmental aspects of the Cherokee flats, both pursuing excellent design and a high environmental standard.
